SUPERB CHINESE DRAGONFLY KITE

A great example of traditional Chinese kite-making (sadly disappearing!). This dragonfly kite was made using only split bamboo and silk, with the patterns on the body and wings hand-painted.

The kite was made around 1990 when kite-flying experienced a massive surge in interest. Later on there was an unfortunate trend to replace the silk with synthetic fabric.

The kite has never been flown and is in perfect condition. From head to tail it measures 95 cm; and from wing tip to wing tip 117 cm i.e. it’s quite large!!

The asking price reflects the quality of workmanship and the rarity of these stunning works of art.
